2 Peter deals with the problems of false prophets, false teachers & scoffers.
3 P’s for an effective life:
- Power (2 Peter 1:3) –as a Christ-follower, you have God’s power (Ephesians 1:18-20; 2 Corinthians 9:8)
- Promises (2 Peter 1:4a) –God has given us the promise to unleash God’s power in our lives. God always delivers on His promises.
- His promises are uncountable.
- His promises are unfathomable
- His promises are available
- Purpose (2 Peter 1:4b) –the purpose is to participate in the Divine Nature of God, to be able to live a godly life.
