Jesus is the Truth, truth sets us free.
The devil is a liar and he uses lies to take us out of the freedom of God’s truth.
THE DEVIL’S PLAN
- GET YOU TO LIE.
Exaggerate a story, Partial truths. Leave out details.
Paint the story for our benefit.
- GET YOU TO LIE TO YOURSELF.
You start rationalizing-Then you have to double down on lies. You Lie so often-You start to believe your own lies. Example: David
- GET YOU TO LIVE A LIE.
To claim one thing but to be something entirely differing. Examples . . .
I’m afraid the devil has even deceived people into believing they are a Christian: 1 John 2:4
Why do you lie? Different reasons.
TRUTH: The Root Reason for Lying Is Because We Don’t Completely Trust God.
We Believe Our lies work better than the truth
- Lies will bring me security-Fear.
- Lie will get me more-Have less of what matters.
- Lie will help you like me-Relationship based on lies.
Lies bring bondage, truth brings freedom.
Satan wants us to tell a lie, to believe the lie, and ultimately live the lie.
Jesus wants us to walk in the truth, to experience the truth, and the truth will ultimately set us free.
GOD’S PLAN
Confess to God for FORGIVENESS and to People for HEALING.
1 John 1:9 -confess our sins, our lies to God
We confess Not for His sake-For you.
James 5:16 -we confess & pray that we may be healed. We confess to each other for healing.
Not talking about a “partial” confession.
TRUTH: 99% of the truth is 100% lie.
