Does God have a purpose for my life? and how can you know what it is?
Everything has gone wrong for David. Psalm 57:1-11.
3 things from Psalm 57 that you can learn about your purpose:
- God has a purpose for you—but it’s not about you.
Superseding David’s desire to be rescued is his prayer for God to be glorified. (Psalm 57:5, 11).
- Why did God create the earth? PSALM 19:1.
- Why did God choose to save us? Ephesians 1:6
- Isn’t that pretty self-centered of God? Psalm 16:11.
- What did Jesus do when we had flaunted His glory? Philippians 2:6-8.
- His glory was not a selfish glory; it was a giving, sharing glory. Philippians 2:9-11.
- God has a purpose for you—and it’s mostly about what He’s doing in
- God is more interested in your character than your comfort.
- God is more interested in making you holy rather than just happy.
- PSALM 57:1.
- God has a purpose for you—and if you are surrendered to it, He will fulfill it (Psalm 57:2).
- For David, this means God will save him from the wicked plans of others. Psalm 57: 3,6.
- He also saves us from our own reckless choices.
- Romans 8:28-30. When you surrender to God’s purpose, the power of that promise becomes your refuge.
The success of any life is measured solely its purpose to glorify God.
