Where do I stand with God?
Luke 2:8-11.
Why did the shepherds feel distant from God
- Because they felt very Unworthy.
- Because they felt very Inadequate.
- Because they felt very Unloved.
Bottom line: religion did not work for the shepherds. The problem with religion is that it reduces Christianity down to rules – dos & don’ts.
What is the Good News?
1st the Good News is: you cannot earn God’s acceptance by observing the Law. Romans 3:20a.
2nd the purpose of the Law is to show you your need for a Savior. Romans 3:20b.
3rd the Good News teaches us: Righteousness with God comes by faith in Christ alone. Romans 3:21-22.
No matter who you are, a Savior has been born. His name is Christ, and He is the Lord.
