Series: I will Rescue You
Week 2: Rescued from Troubled Times
Intro: At the end of John 15, Jesus was predicting persecution & the coming of the Holy Spirit. Closing out the Upper Room discourse, Christ issues a call to endure hardships, knowing that in Him we are ultimately victorious. Jesus reminds His followers that difficult times are no surprise—least of all to God. In those moments, believers can take comfort in knowing Jesus is in control. The hard times to come would cause all of the disciples to scatter and abandon Jesus. But Jesus ends this instruction with a powerful encouragement: that the world will bring suffering, but for those who believe in Christ, He has already obtained ultimate victory.
