Week 6: The Lie—Your Life is What You Make It
The lie: Your life is what you make it.
Beneath the motivational veneer is a satanic whisper: “You can be your own god.”
THE AMERICAN DREAM HAS BECOME A SPIRITUAL NIGHTMARE.
We have discipled our children to believe: “The world is what you make it.” But Scripture asks: “Is what we’re making of this world worth it?”
THE LIE IS AS OLD AS THE SERPENT: “YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD”.
Genesis 3:4-5
The serpent never mentions the fine print: You gain “opened eyes,” but you lose your soul.
MAKING A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL ALWAYS COSTS MORE THAN IT GIVES.
No amount of worldly gain is worth your soul.
Proverbs 16:18.
THE LIE SAYS GOD IS HOLDING OUT ON YOU
The serpent’s strategy: “God is keeping something from you.” The implied truth claim from Satan is this: “God is holding out on you.”
“YOUR LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT” IS THE BATTLE CRY OF REBELS.
Genesis 11:4.
Every self‑made life looks impressive from earth. Every self‑made life looks pathetic from heaven.
THE GOSPEL ANSWER: MEEKNESS, NOT SELF‑MADE GREATNESS.
Matthew 5:5.
The devil hates meekness because meekness dethrones self & enthrones Christ.
YOU ARE NOT OWED ANYTHING—EXCEPT JUDGMENT.
