How do you make it personal? You have to make your spiritual growth a priority. Realize that your relationship with God will become more passionate as you become more passionate about how you connect with Him.

You should stop thinking of God only as someone you fear, but as someone you can love. This should settle what you believe about the character of God forever. God keeps His promises. God can be trusted with your heart, you soul, & your strength. He is not giving you Canaan because you deserve it, or because of who you are, but because He is God.

If you need a Savior, that means you are in a mess.

You don’t go out to face the giants because you’re the right stuff. Bring your memory to bear with sound thinking on the promises of God.

You fight favoritism in your heart and you grow in character by giving VIP treatment to those who are more vulnerable than you. We fight favoritism by going to the back of the line. This isn’t optional for us. As a church, this is our obligation, and God doesn’t have another set of hands and feet on the earth other than His church. We’re called to this.

If you want a life that is transformed, don’t just listen to God’s Word. Do it! Faith without action is dead. … Where does your faith, what you say you believe, need to act this week?

Many drift from God in trial rather than turn to God in trial. But know this that the purpose of trials is to mature you not to destroy you. But remember God is our spotter.
