It’s important to remember the point of your story. God has called you to impact the lives of those around you. … It’s easy to let our routines become distractions.

Sermon by Tracy Marsh, youth pastor Text: Luke 2:4-7

This parable makes it clear that if we love our neighbors only when it requires no time, energy, money, or risk, we will never love our neighbors as ourselves. All love is costly.

Decisive action now with what we cannot keep will in some way make a difference in our futures. The road to who we are becoming in the future begins now.

Unfortunately, the reason you & I are not more blessed is because we still actually believe it is more blessed to receive than it is to give.

When Jesus is the center of your story, it changes how you let your story be told.

The call of Jesus was so simple, so clean, so clear: “Follow Me.” And if it means a life of suffering, hardship, and disappointment, it will be worth it because following Jesus Christ is more powerful and more fulfilling than living with everything in the world minus Him.

Here’s what I believe about belief: People can believe they believe something that they may not actually believe. Do you believe that’s true?
Following Jesus is what happens when our lives align with what we say we believe about Him.

Grace doesn’t compare. Because Grace in Jesus is always married to truth. And the truth is: we have all fallen short of God’s standard.
